Today, we all take a moment to remember and thank those who have proudly served our country, and in some cases, given their lives.
On this day, let me introduce you to a very special veteran, our "Daddy." Daddy was one of the few, the proud, yes, the Marines. We all remember growing up to his old Marine Corps stories. He taught us the Marine Corps Hymn. We had pictures of him in his dress blues over the mantel growing up. Yes, he was proud to be a Marine, and still is. Whenever he sees anyone wearing a Marine Corps shirt or cap today, he just pats them on the back and says, "Semper Fi, Brother," and they instantly start up a conversation like they have known each other for years. I imagine this is the kind of camaraderie that those of us who haven't served will never quite be able to understand.
Here is a picture of Daddy is his dress blues, with our Mom. This picture dates back to the 1970's, but that uniform is still about as spiffy as they come.
So thank you, Daddy, and all military personnel past and present, for all you do!
We are proud of you and we love you!
