Out of Print Clothing

Out of print? Ooh, child! Don't you mean out of date? Not really - observe these works of art that I own.

First up is The Great Gatsby T-shirt:

And here I am in my To Kill a Mockingbird T-shirt last summer at the Girls' Weekend Retreat in Hot Springs, NC:

I LOVE these shirts because they show that you can be well-read and well-dressed all in one fell swoop.

Out of Print Clothing's mission is as follows (which only makes their product THAT much better if you ask me):

"Out of Print celebrates the world’s great stories through fashion. Our products feature iconic and often out of print book covers. Some are classics, some are just curious enough to make great t-shirts, but all are striking works of art.

We work closely with artists, authors and publishers to license the content that ends up in our collections. Each product is treated to feel soft and worn like a well-read book.

In addition to spreading the joy of reading through our tees and accessories, we acknowledge that many parts of the world don’t have access to books at all. We are working to change that. For each product sold, one book is donated to a community in need through our partner Books For Africa.

How we read is changing as we move further into the digital age. It’s unclear what the role of the book cover will be in this new era, but we feel it’s more important than ever to reflect on our own individual experiences with great literary art before it’s forever changed."

AND to top it all off, I have had these shirts for maybe two years and the colors are just as bright as the day I bought them, they are as soft as your favorite pajamas, and they are unique. So, yes, you can get a T-shirt at your local TJ Maxx for cheaper (you should go), but it probably won't have the same pizazz as these threads. They're perfect for yourself or as a gift for someone else. Note to interested parties: be mindful of their size charts. (My Great Gatsby T-shirt is a medium and my To Kill a Mockingbird T-shirt is a small, and they both fit perfectly.)
