How to Make Your Very Own Barbie Meme

The Harris Sisters are always trying to stay on top of the latest trends… did you know the Barbie Selfie Generator is the latest thing to waste time?

It's easy to do!

  1. Visit Barbie Selfie Generator
  2. Upload your own photo (or take a selfie using the software). (The Barbie Selfie Generator will automatically crop out the background for you and place your photo on the Barbie Movie Poster!)
  3. Reposition the photo around the Barbie logo if needed. Change the tagline text and change the background color, if desired.
Download your Barbie selfie to share with friends or on social media. And don't worry guys, they've got you covered - You can also make a Ken if you'd like!

Take a look at these Harris Sisters examples. In the group photo, I added a description that fit The Harris Sisters specifically "This Barbie is going hunting for vintage."

"But what if I can't think of any text to add?" The Barbie meme generator will autofill text that might work with your photo, and you can either use that text or change it to something that you'd rather use. So easy!

Pro Tip: Close up shots work better for this Barbie Selfie Generator. For example, The Harris Sisters had this Barbie group photo all queued up and ready to use and it didn't work quite right for this purpose.

So, we were able to crop out individual shots and use those to create the ones shown above. To make your Barbie meme, you can use existing photos (like we did) or take a selfie using the Barbie Selfie website.

Hope this inspires you to make your own Barbie selfie! You, too, can be a Barbie girl in a Barbie world!

How to Plan a Spring Tea Party

With winter coming to an end, now is the perfect time to plan a spring Tea Party. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, Mother's Day, Easter, baby or wedding showers, or just enjoying brunch with girlfriends, you can't go wrong with a tea party theme.

Spring Tea Party Invitations

Start with an invitation that matches your spring tea party aesthetic. If you'd like for your guest to come dressed for the party, add "tea party attire requested" to the invitations.

What to Wear to a Spring Tea Party

A tea party invitation can be the perfect time to break out your fancy dresses. Since you're not actually going to meet the royal family, the rules for your tea party outfit can be a bit flexible. Find a fun dress in a bright color, and pair it with some accessories like:

  • a hat
  • a fascinator
  • gloves
  • vintage jewelry
  • a parasol
  • a special purse

Spring Tea Party Decorations

Part of the fun of decorating for a spring tea party will be the decorations. Now's your chance to bring out your vintage china, jadeite, pink Depression glass, and milk glass to set a stunning table. Mix in bouquets of colorful flowers and set them all on a vintage tablecloth.

Mix and match your vintage china, tea cups, saucers, and tea pots to create unique spring tea party table settings. We chose to use tea pots for both vases and to serve tea. And make sure to use cake stands and pedestals to add height to your table.

Gather teacups and luncheon sized plates for guests. You can create beautiful place settings by mixing and matching pieces. If you don’t own tea cups, ask each guest to bring a tea cup with them to the party. At the beginning of the tea party, you can have each guest tell where they got their tea cup and why it is special to them as an icebreaker.

In the photo below, the tea cup and saucer are a matching set, but they are layered with a pink Depression glass salad plate and then another vintage gold-rimmed china salad plate.

The Perfect Spring Tea Party Menu

For your spring tea party menu, you want to serve simple finger foods and appetizers. Serve a mix of both savory and sweet foods. And don't forget to include a variety of beverages in case you have guests who don't actually enjoy drinking tea. If you're holding your party outside (like we did), you might also want to consider serving cold beverages too. Here's a list of our spring tea party food ideas:

Savory Appetizers

  • Variety of hot teas (Green Tea, Peppermint Tea, Raspberry Tea, Earl Grey)

Apple Rose Tarts | How to Make Puff Pastry Apple Roses

Whether you're throwing a wedding shower, baby shower, tea party, or Mother's Day celebration, wow your guests with these tiny glazed apple rose tarts. Perfect for serving alongside your other party appetizers, these individual mini desserts look adorable served in tea cups.

Apple Rose Tarts

2 sheets frozen puff pastry dough

2 medium pink or red apples like Pink Lady or Fuji

juice from half a lemon

4 Tbsp. strawberry preserves

1 Tbsp. water

powdered sugar for dusting

  1. Thaw puff pastry sheets at room temperature.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin. Set aside.
  3. Remove core from apples. Using a mandoline slicer, slice apples as thin as possible. (The thinner the apples, the more pliable they will be, which will prevent them from breaking when rolling.)
  4. Place apple slices into a medium, microwave-safe bowl. Fill bowl with enough water to cover apple slices. Mix in lemon juice to prevent apples from browning. Heat bowl of apples for about 1-2 minutes in the microwave or until apples are soft and pliable.
  5. Lightly flour a pastry board. Place puff pastry sheets on board and slice each sheet into six equal strips.
  6. In a small bowl, add strawberry preserves and 1 Tbsp. water. Stir together and then heat in the microwave for about 20 seconds, or until warm and easy to spread. Spread a thin layer of  preserve mixture on one side of each strip of dough.
  7. Line apple slices on the upper half of each strip of dough, so that they are sticking out partially, with the skin part of the slices sticking out above the dough. (You don't want too much of the apple sticking out above the dough, otherwise this part of the apple will overcook in the oven. You just want about 1/3 sticking out.) Overlap the apple slices when lining them on the strip of dough. Fold up the bottom half of the dough.
  8. Starting at one end, carefully roll up the strip of dough, forming a tight spiral. Stretch the end of the dough and pinch to close. Place into greased muffin tin. Repeat with remaining dough.
  9. Place muffin pan into the lower half of the oven. (This will prevent the apples from browning too fast.) Bake for about 40 minutes or until puff pastry is fully cooked.
  10. Dust apple roses with powdered sugar right before serving.
