Joy Jar

One of the activities that we have undertaken in preparation for Christmas is this really cool one that we whipped up just today:

You take a jar or coffee can or really any container and then, let the kiddos decorate it.  We used this mason jar, and Charlotte went straight away to my drawer o' stickers.  However, after a couple of hours, the temptation was just too much for Emma, and while no one was looking, she peeled all the stickers back off to make a nose for her own little craft project.  Anyhoo, you cut up strips of paper and then, encourage your entire family to write down things that bring them joy.  On Christmas day, you then read the slips of paper out loud to your family.

I plopped these right down in a central location, and as you can see, we have a lot to be joyous about already!
