This recipe is one that the boys love. And, really, what's not to like? Because it tastes like pizza, chop up some fresh veggies (toppings) to use as dippers along with the old standby (a good, crusty bread).
Pizza Fondue
1 Tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup white wine*
3 cups marinara sauce (or 24 oz. if using jarred)
3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp dried basil
Cubed bread and fresh veggies for dipping
- In a medium sized pot, simmer the garlic and white wine in the olive oil over medium-high heat for 1 minute. Add marinara sauce.
- Once the mixture starts to boil, reduce heat to medium.
- Add mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and cornstarch to a Ziploc bag and shake. Add mixture to the marinara sauce 1/4 at a time.
- Stir over medium heat until all of the cheese is melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the basil.
- Transfer mixture to fondue pot.
- Serve with cubed bread and fresh veggies.
Notes
For those of you who don't want to use white wine (or quite frankly don't happen to have a mere 1/4 cup laying around unused), feel free to either substitute white grape juice or leave this ingredient out of the recipe altogether.

how many servings is this?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous, if you're serving this and only this for dinner, I'd say that it serves 8. If you're serving it as a snack food or an appetizer along with other foods, I'd say it serves 12. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteAny idea if this can be made ahead and reheated? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes, this reheats pretty well, but it's also really fast to make fresh. Good for busy weeknights! Good luck!
